Books for Fashion Entrepreneurs: From the left: 1.  ----- 2. -----3.

Betty Helbreich, Barbara Hulanicki and Sophia Amoruso, despite of their very different backgrounds, have one thing in common, they have revolutionized fashion retail for once and forever. Betty, being the unique force behind the personal shopping department of Bergdorf Goodman, Barbara starting her unique fashion boutique - Biba in the 60's London, which became the force of inspiration for stores like Top Shop, Zara and H&M and Sophia, by becoming one of the youngest fashion Girl-Bosses in the world and starting her company Nasty Gal. All those three books are super interesting reads for those who love fashion not only for its beauty but also for its  business potential and creativity.

Coffee Table Books: From the left: 1. ----2.----3.

It is very tempting to judge the hosts of our holiday parties by the covers of the books proudly displayed on their coffee tables. This year, I have chosen three amazingly inspiring books that can impress any type of guests. From the subjects like forever-in-fashion French Riviera in the 1920's, Ron Galella’s stunning paparazzi pictures of the celebrities like Warhole, Keith Haring in New York of late sixties to early nineties, to amazing monograph on history of Italian fashion that I mentioned already on my blog this spring, there is so much to be inspired.

Page-Turners For Travel:  From the left: 1.----2.----3.
As many of us travel and fly long hours during the holiday season, it is more than necessary to kill that time with some fascinating book. I plan to peruse the story of the seventeenth-century Amsterdam, the powers of love and obsession, sins and secrets, loyalty and forgiveness (3); be infatuated with Nick Hornby's first new book in five years about swinging sixties London and constellation of funny as always characters and finally browse relentlessly  the edge-of-your-seat crime thriller set in 1920's London by Sarah Waters.

Books for Art Lovers: From the left: 1.----2.----3.

I fell in love with Amanda Palmer when I first saw her band Dresden Doll's show on DVD and now I can't wait to read her remarkable memoir about asking and giving and to tumble headlong into her creative and very unique world.

Do you want to become an insider in the world of contemporary art? Then, reading book (2) is an intense course into understanding how contemporary art world operates.

Finally, thanks to my favorite British fashion blog - Emerald Street, I discovered Two Turtle Doves, which for all of us who love jewelry present the opportunity to witness the intimate journey of how an idea transforms from a random thought into an exquisite jewelry design. It is about where we find our creativity, memory and the process of making ideas happen.

Books are such an intimate way of showing the person we really know them well or introducing them to a new world that they have not been familiar with. I am so looking forward to this holiday reading!
What will be your book choices this Christmas season?

Read and be festive!
