I have been working remotely for 3 months now. Not only has it changed my daily routines, but it also had an impact on how I dress. Dressing for yourself can be challenging. During the first weeks spent at home, what mattered the most was comfort. I just wanted to wake up and put something on and start the day. It felt strange as fashion is a  big part of what I do for a living. Yet, here I was wearing sweatpants and randomly selected hoodies. Deeper into isolation, the zoom meetings became a daily fixture of my professional agenda. I started caring more about my looks and the message I was sending through what I was wearing. The inside of my closet seemed so boring and I needed inspiration.  I won't be lying when I say something switched in my perception of a personal style. I wanted to feel comfortable but also look presentable. Here is where Femme Luxe Finery came to my rescue!

I love a good statement t-shirt but the stage of my life where loud slogans and favorite bands from the eighties are something I would be comfortable wearing in a professional, yet private environment is definitely over. The concept of a few fashion essentials that I can wear interchangeably seems more appealing than ever! 

A minimalistic t-shirt is something that goes well both with a pair of smart pants as well as fitted joggers. Most of my t-shirts are either black or white. I am a purist in this department. However, what I pay attention to is a simple statement which looks graphically pleasing. I am a huge fan of hand-written fonts! The message that won't distract your clients and will not be the main topic of discussion behind the scenes at work. I decided to pair the t-shirt with a pair of joggers and I was ready not only to handle 2 hour online meeting but also to go out on a short walk feeling like my old-stylish self. Nothing made me happier than the fact that joggers were available in dusty pink and black. My favorite color combination!

I have to say that I live and breathe in loungewear since the beginning of lockdown. However, now at least I have the impression that what I am wearing reflects my sense of style, and reminds me that fashion brings joy in the most unexpected circumstances. If getting dressed seems overwhelms you lately, I have a simple formula for you to follow. Focus on what you like to wear and what makes you feel better inside and out. As long as you have at least three cotton t-shirts of great quality, some solid, some with a delicate print; two pairs of joggers in contrasting colors, you can become loungewear professional! 

Who said dressing for yourself must be boring? If someone did, prove them wrong!
