Busy Phillips wearing pink suit

As October is almost halfway through, I had to speed up with my research to meet the monthly deadline for sharing with you my most recent pop-culture and fashion obsessions. With days getting shorter and the temperature dropping, I spent more time inside which translates into the increased consumption of books, movies, and podcasts. You will find the list of this month's picks below.

1. UNSTYLED PODCAST from Refinery 29, Interview with Stacy London (episode 16 "Finding Courage to Reboot Your Life) All my friends and readers of this blog know that podcasts are my big addiction. This particular conversation from 2017, with one of the most acclaimed stylists in the world, was essential for me for many reasons. Stacy perceives fashion as a tool that may help us improve our lives. I think we often become slaves of fashion forgetting that it was invented to serve us, not the other way round. Listen to this podcast if you want to boost your ego, motivate yourself and get a practical perspective on feminism, creativity, and courage to be yourself from one of the most honest voices of the fashion world.

2. ALWAYS AT CARLYLE (2018) by Mathew Miele is a beautiful and heart-warming documentary about one of the most legendary luxury hotels in New York. What fascinates me more than interviews with the stars who were regulars there are the hotel employees responsible for creating the unique atmosphere of this place. Their devotion to this New York institution, hundreds of fascinating stories and loyalty towards the guests, made me shed a tear more than once during this movie.

3.  "THIS WILL ONLY HURT A LITTLE" by Busy Phillips is my most anticipated book of the month.  I first saw Busy in "Dawson Creek." She was one of my least favorite characters of the show. Then she disappeared out of my cinematic-interest zone and reappeared in my consciousness quite unexpectedly a few months ago. I admit her Instagram Stories are my daily obsession. She is the queen of the short content making it fun, real and addictive. She is also the best friend of Michelle Williams! The fact that she listens to my favorite bands and shares her playlists regularly could only help me like her even more. October marks a big comeback for Busy as her memoir is out and her talk show is about to go live. Fingers crossed Busy; it's your time now!

4. LETS TALK MAGAZINE ISSUE 2 by Risk Made in Warsaw
For all my international readers, I am sorry that this magazine, published by one of my favorite local fashion brands, is only available in Polish. However, for all those who love beautiful graphic designs, it is worth to buy it as every issue is a well-curated piece of art. The last issue is all about Warsaw.

5. The ROMANOFFS
I have just watched three episodes of the new Prime Video's production, and I am in awe of it. I could not expect less from Mathew Weiner, the creator of Mad Men. Not only a stellar cast makes the series pleasantly watchable but also the fact that each episode is an entirely separate story with a unique view on the descendants of the Russian royal family. So far, episode one was my favorite as I loved the modern take on Romanoffs' heritage in a contemporary Paris setting with my long-time Hollywood crush, Aaron Eckhart. Watch it and tell me what you think.

Finally, I would not be myself if I did not include some of the fashion inspirations from my personal wish list. This month I am inspired by royal burgundy (as I am bored with animal patterns), corduroy, velvet, and eye-catching jewelry pieces.
