One of the sweetest and most dangerous things about winter is the fact that it gives you a million excuses to stay in. You have a headache; everybody is sick, and you are sick; you don't want to spread the germs; you are just staying in because it's really impossible to be out in this cold weather. It just makes perfect sense to be allowed to stay in. It's winter for god sake! If you are choosing the perfect time to let yourself breathe a little and forget about the regimes of your daily routine, I think you are excused at least one weekend in a winter month to let your friends go out without you or your gym to be just too far away.

Before I prepare for a perfect night in,  I love to wear and feel comfortable in and at the same time I will not be afraid that if anyone walks in, they see me looking a bit too relaxed. Just don't think I mean here that made-up effect of women like Ditta Von Teese. What I think is more a California athleisure chic, when loungewear just looks effortless, modern and feminine. Perfect, warm and soft robe, flattering pajamas with some lace and cute matching slippers, with a glass of prosecco in hand and a package my favorite coconut chips on the table, wrapped in a favorite hand-made blanket purchased during some Summer vacation in Maine, I am ready to start my Netflix binge.

 THE AFFAIR

Netflix can be as addictive as it gets when it comes to addictive watching. You must have a will as strong as a Tibetan Monk embarking on a 60-day silent retreat if you can resist watching the entire season of the show you actually find fascinating in one seating. As it just happened to The Affair and me. I remember when it officially aired on Showtime, I immediately felt those series were not for me. At the time I was not into watching the relationships falling apart in the landscape of overrated Summer location of Hamptons. However, I decided to skip the entire "too seductive to bear" beginning and tuned into the show starting episode 5 and needless to say, I could not stop. I loved the depth of the personal dramas of each of the main character and man versus women views on the same situation. I was so thrilled to find out that Maura Tierney who played the first wife of Noah, the main character of the show got such a well-deserved Golden Globe last year. In general, I either watch shows with well-developed dramas or dark mysteries with twisted psychological plots. This show has everything I like, it is twisted and dark but also sarcastically funny. The Affair offers a fascinating insight into a NEW York life, for all those who have lived there or just love that city. It is absolutely never boring and gets the complexities of modern romantic relationships painfully well. I highly recommend it.
