the Coat, Coats from Fall Winter 2016-2017 Collection
Undeniably, fall is my favorite time to dress. So many textures, fabrics, and opportunities to lasso your individual style. As the temperature drops,  fashion choices crawl around practicality. However, who said that practical clothes should be boring? Let's just look at the coats designed by the Ukrainian fashion designer, Katya Silchenko from the Coat. As if taken from the set of one of my favorite Wes Anderson's movies: Royal Tenenbaums, her coats are so full of life. Color blocking, mixing fur with different fabrics make them look sporty and dramatic, yet so feminine and elegant. That is what I imagine a creative, edgy modern woman should wear.

1. Black Boots, Finsk by Julia Lundsten
2. Ash Boot, LD Tuttle

Fall for me means boot-obsession. I always need at least one pair of ankle flat boots, ankle platform boots and high heel boots for special occasions. Leather is a must! They need to look very feminine but yet be comfortable enough to be worn all day. I love shoe experimentation during the summer. However, in the colder months, I tend to choose colors like black, tan and gray. Julia Lundsten, the designer behind the London-based brand Finsk, graduated from London's Royal College of Art. Her talent was honored by two Manolo Blahnik awards. Finsk shoes are not only handmade in Brazil but are such an eye candy for a modern shoe lover. This calf-high boot with a sturdy heel can complement your jeans and be a perfect match with dresses and skirts.

LD Tuttle is a shoe company founded by husband and wife team. Tiffany Tuttle knows fashion inside out as she graduated from FIT and worked at Givenchy and Rebecca Taylor NY. The married duo resides in Los Angeles, and since 2006 they have collaborated with different fashion designers as well as focused on their own company. Their shoes as you can see above are comfortable, made of Italian leather, with a hint of a downtown chic.

1. Military Jacket, Karen Copenhagen
2. Nice Lies Jacket, Alisa Kuzembaeva
My biggest obsession of fall 2016 is military jackets. I am all for vintage Eisenhower jackets, their longer versions, embroidered lapels, golden buttons, multiple pockets, epaulets, Asian embroidery, graphics, jackets covered in pins and badges. For this post, I selected two of my favorites. Classic navy military jacket with red embroidery on the lapels from Karen Copenhagen, vintage store from Denmark offering an incredible selection of clothes from 1920-1980. (Also available online!) This jacket will go well with almost everything you are planning to wear this fall.

The other jacket is designed by Alisa Kuzenbaeva, who for me is a female response to the popularity of  Gosha Rubchinskiy, the other Russian designer, who specializes only in menswear. Ironic wordplays, large logo, oversized shape, mixing sport with chic can be quite street-stylish and unisex extravagant.  This collarless black jacket stands out mostly because of the "Nice Lies" slogan. Black and white gains a new dimension and certainly attract attention. If we are bored with black winter jackets, this one for sure is a stylish option.

Jackets, coats, and boots are the foundation of a perfect fall closet. Of course, you need shirts, pants, dresses, and skirts but with those three elements being perfect, who cares what hides underneath! This fall conquer the streets in style! Don't forget to share your fashion choices with me!
