Denim in the Summer? Oh, yes and lots of it this year. However you like it: denim on denim, denim mixed with other casual clothes, denim suits, denim with cotton dresses, denim as part of a formal wear. There are so many ways to incorporate denim into your closet this Summer.

Lately, I have been searching for a way to find a perfect day to night denim outfit that will make me feel comfortable and feminine at the same time, on my weekend escapades. If you are brave enough to go all the way denim, and I promise you, you will not look like a poster girl from the nineties, follow my instructions.

Those who read my blog, are aware of my recent obsession with Whistles, British fashion brand. The clothes have great quality and really follow what is most important about fashion now, comfort mixed with sense of contemporary, street style feel and a dose of luxury. I love how the midi skirt is elevated from its original form to the edgy, current look thanks to the front zipper with the vent. A bohemian blouse with embroidery is a great addition to any seaside Summer trip and now its regaining its popularity again. Finally, we all need a small, light clutch to carry the basics. This denim purse with fringe edging is simple and can make a statement both on the city streets, as well as our vacation retreats. Finish your look with a great Ulla Johnson's heels and you are ready to catch any spotlight you need this summer.

I have been thinking about vacations in Greece for a very long time now. Unfortunately, my dream is not coming true this year. However, thanks to The Children of the Light, the new book by  Calliope Karvounis, Greek photographer who spent 25 years in New York City and recently returned to Greece, at least I found the source of visual consolation. Greece has been going through quite an economical turmoil, but the image of this country presented in Calliope's pictures is fairy-tale idyllic and truly shows the immense beauty of its people, architecture and the landscape.

As I still did not have a chance to buy the book, I got a great sneak peek of it on Yatzer, (Check it out, it is a wonderful source of creative inspiration founded by a Greek interior designer).

Let me know if denim works for you this Summer! If you are not traveling anywhere this summer, how are you keeping yourself inspired? Please share your sources of inspirations with me: books, pictures, fashion, you tell me!
