For me this weekend in New York has been all about 20th edition of Randez Vous with French Cinema. Last Friday during the opening night of the festival, I was fortunate enough to see Charlotte Gainsbourg in person and to watch 3 Hearts, movie in which she plays a very charismatic Sylvie. As my 24/7 passion is to think about everything in terms of fashion, I watched it thinking how the character she was in the movie was actually a great representation of her personal style. Sylvie, 90% of the movie wears a simple white shirt, with seductive black bra underneath, simple straight cut jeans and black topcoat. Charlotte, who is an inspiration for many fashion designers, loves effortless street fashion- inspired clothes. She is very often seen in jeans, t-shirts paired with a high quality jacket or trench. Her style is a combination of urban chic, rock-style and bohemian influences.

Charlotte Gainsbourg - French Street Style Muse

Military and rock-star style elements visible on SS15 runaways promote the aesthetic, which brings Charlotte's clothes in mind. She loves wearing t-shirts and that made me think that that article of clothing, which was created in 1913 for U.S. Navy and made extremely popular by such rebels on the screen as Marlon Brando, James Dean or Paul Newman, is re-gaining a status of fashion classic once again. However, it is more extravagant; it promotes social and artistic messages .

Recently, I have discovered Paris-based company Mon Beau T-shirt Imprime, which offers high resolution photographic t-shirts with amazing images from famous and unknown photographers and artists. You do not have to have a fortune to wear a t-shirt which is a unique work of art.
Such t-shirt paired with military coat or blazer, great shoes and jeans will put you on the style map of 2015.
