How to dress like French Women?

Many things were written about French chic, French women who have effortless style. As an image consultant, I find some elements of French fashion style so amazingly universal and easily applicable in our daily rush to look best with minimum effort (or the illusion of it).

Today I have chosen my favorite modern French style muses to show what style tips we can learn from them.

Garance Doré 

Corsica born, popular style blogger, fashion illustrator famous for her collaborations with Christian Dior and Net-a-Porter, Garance Doré is one of the most talented online fashion writers out there.

If you want to project nonchalance of a French boy chic a.k.a. gamin style like Garance:

1. Match sexy, feminine shoes (from sandals to pumps) with great fitting pants. 
2. Refresh clothes in neutral colors with striking, modern accessories, i.e. scarves, clutches, jewelry.

Inès de la Fressange

Inès de la Fressange, one time muse of Karl Lagerfeld, a former model and the author of one of my favorite style manuals Parisian Chic simplifies her style in the following tips:

1. Don't take yourself too seriously and don't dress up, dress for yourself!
2. Invest in best quality style staples like: a cashmere sweater, white shirt, great shoes and buy them in few colors if you like them so much.
3. Don't be too perfect, it's boring!

Mélanie Laurent

Mélanie Laurent, a French actress, who is known to American audience from the movies like Inglorious Bastards or Beginners, dresses according to her mood and personality. Her style is romantic, super feminine and mysterious and she achieves that through:

1. Makeup which makes her complexion look ethereal and glowing.
2. Ultra feminine, dresses and skirts with strongly defined waist to create an illusion of feminine curves in her small frame.
3. Matching romantic style elements like lace, tulle full skirts with bold modern pumps and statement bags.
