Pat Pruitt - Jewelry

It seems that there have been many changes in the world of accessories and jewelry since diamonds were a girl's best friends. Modern jewelry  has to be simple, eclectic, unique and it is very important that it is custom made, hence the popularity of stores like Brooklyn based, Catbird.

For those who are looking for something even more unique, blending tradition and modernity, I have a pleasure to share the designer whom I saw at the lecture tonight in New York at Parsons School of Design,  Pat Pruitt. I think it is not a coincidence that a week after I submitted my project "Contemporary Native American Style" as a trend in 2015 S/S decoration and architecture at my trend forecasting class (see the board below), I heard about this amazing artist and craftsman.

I love the idea that Pat Pruitt "wants to push the envelope on what is considered "Native" and his jewelry is actually a perfect blend of industrial and traditional Native American as well as inspirations from all different cultures. Pat Pruitt's jewelry seems to absorb tradition with the influences of the future. It is simple, yet sophisticated.
From an Image Consultant's perspective it reminds me that jewelry can completely transform the outfit  and a persons style statement, making it more sophisticated, edgy or just very interesting.
That is definitely what Prat Pruitt does with his unique custom made jewelry.

How important is jewelry for you? Do you go for classic pieces or search for custom made bracelets and rings from local artists?
